Once again I am participating in Digital Filipino’s annual writing project to recognize the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2014.
With the many platforms and tutorials online, it’s easy to learn how to publish your own blog if you want to. But creating a blog with an impact is another matter. As a blogger, I know it takes a lot of time and effort to produce original, well-written content that will be read by a wide audience, and at the same time, have a positive impact with readers.
My choices for the year’s emerging influential blogs reflect my interests on travel, food, personal finance and freelancing, and preference for original thought, good stories and generally good writing.
Here’s my Top 10 list:
An insightful blog by a teacher who shares her experiences and life lessons.
Combining a passion for travel and knowledge of communications and marketing, the blogger travels around the country and beyond, and serves as a tourism ambassador who lets everyone know that really, “It’s more fun in the Philippines!”
Ang tunay na Pinoy ay may ka-pamilyang OFW. (A true Filipino has an Overseas Filipino Worker in his or her immediate family.) Amen? Amen! Reading OFW news and stories make me miss OFW – family members more, but also let me know that they’re in the company of many other hardworking and caring fellow Filipinos.
Simply reading well-designed and well-written food blogs like this one satisfies my food cravings in the middle of late night, cramming work sessions.
I love the idea of a simple life, but actually living a simple life seems very challenging. Reading Bituin’s blog motivates me to keep trying to make things simple.
The blog aims to spread financial literacy among all Pinoys. Financial independence is something we should all work for. This blog is a great source of information on the subject of finance, investment, savings and related matters.
A heart-warming blog on family, parenting and life lessons written by a full-time wife and mom.
SEO and Internet marketing seem to be difficult areas to learn. But as an online freelancer I should really be learning these things by heart. A quick browse of this blog shows helpful, information-filled posts.
I’m a freelancer myself, and this blog has lots of useful information I can use right away.
I love nature photos. Pictures of mountains and hiking and biking trails capture the magnificent, natural beauty of the world.
To readers and fellow bloggers, let the bloggers know that you love / like their (our) blogs! To participate in this writing project, read the mechanics here:
