Co-presented with the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila presents Ink Paintings from China: Chen Lyusheng & Sun Jiangtao, an exhibition of works on paper by esteemed artists Chen Lyusheng and Sun Jiangtao.

Lyushesheng and Jiangtao adhere to the Southern School or “literati” style of painting in China. Both are scholars cultivated by a variety of motivations such as calligraphy, photography and fine crafts. Lyusheng is the Deputy Director of The National Museum of China and the Vice-Director of Beijing Artist Association. Jiangtao is the Director of the Macau Calligraphy and Painting Institute for Research. This exhibit will no doubt bring a better and deeper understanding of contemporary Chinese painting to the Philippine audience.

Ink Paintings from China: Chen Lyusheng & Sun Jiangtao is on view to the public beginning June 20 until August 23 at the TALL Galleries. Visit the MetropolitanMuseum of Manila at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Complex, Roxas Blvd., Manila. Museum days are from Mondays-Saturdays, 10am to 5:30pm.
