Cinephiles have a reason to rejoice. There’s a film festival opening this weekend that will screen movies for FREE.
To celebrate the Chinese lunar new year, the Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies of the Ateneo de Manila University will hold the Spring Film Festival at the ShangriLa Plaza Mall Cineplex from February 1 to 10, 2013. Now on its seventh year, the film festival is an annual event that aims to promote Chinese culture.
The six Chinese movies to be shown this year are: Jasmine Women, Piano In A Factory, 2 Become 1, Golden Times, Storm Warriors and Space Dream. There’s a movie for everyone, as different film genres are represented here: drama, romance, and action.
Here’s the screening schedule:
Don’t worry if you can’t understand a word of Chinese. All the movies to be shown will have subtitles. Be at the cinema before the scheduled showing time to line up for your admission tickets.
Also happening alongside the film festival will be a Chinese painting and photo exhibit from February 1 to 10, and a cultural workshop on February 10.
