It’s always a treat for me to go to food shows. I just love to browse around and look at what’s in store and what’s new. That’s why I went to the ongoing Manila Foods and Beverages Expo (MAFBEX) at the World Trade Center.
Food industry professionals and food enthusiasts will have something to look forward to in this expo. There are ready made food, food ingredients, packaging items, machineries, business opportunities, seminars, cooking demos and competitions, and many more. There is also an international section featuring products from Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Korea etc. And again, lots of food! Food and beverage samples are plenty, so be ready.
When going to food shows, I make it a point to catch a cooking demo. On Thursday, June 14, I was in time for a product demo for Hurom Slow Juicers where the chef made a salad and vinaigrette. This goes well with the expo’s theme of “Back to Basics,” focusing on organic, healthy food choices.
National Bookstore also joins MAFBEX 2012 as it promotes blogger and fashionista Jenni Epperson’s book “Fashion + Food Entertaining at Home in Style.” There will be a book signing tomorrow, June 17 at 1-3pm at the National Bookstore booth (Booth#R12).
Organized by Worldbex Services International, MAFBEX 2012 runs from June 13 to 17 at the World Trade Center Manila, 10am to 8pm.
